The Muskoka Pride Committee would like to remind everyone that July 16th through 24th is designated as Muskoka Pride Week 2011. The committee would like to invite everyone in Muskoka out to these LGBTA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and Ally) events that are planned across Muskoka.On Saturday July 16th , everyone is invited out to the Fire, Fireworks, and Potluck kick-off event. Hosted by Club Chill Events at HQ Muskoka (highway 400, exit 182, off Iroquois Cranberry Grower’s Drive), the barbecuing starts at 6:00, a bonfire will be lit at 9:00 with special guest fire dancers, and fireworks at 10:00 to finish off the night. Bring a lawn-chair and some food to share with others in a potluck dinner.
On Monday July 18th join Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith and the Muskoka Pride Committee as the Rainbow Pride flag is raised at Bracebridge Town Hall. The flag-raising will be at 10:00AM.
On Tuesday July 19th, people are invited to meet for dinner at Boston Pizza in Gravenhurst and then go to the Muskoka Drive-In. To take part in the “Tuesday Dinner and a Movie” event, all you have to do is make your reservation at Boston Pizza for 7:00, then head on over to the Drive-In afterwards.
On Friday July 22nd , all are invited for “Muskoka Pride Bowling” in Huntsville. The cost is $17.50 for two hours of bowling, including shoes and several prizes.
Muskoka Pride Week will come to a close on Sunday, July 24th with the third annual Muskoka Pride Picnic. The picnic will be held at Annie Williams Park in Bracebridge again this year. The event will take place from noon to 5PM. Participants are invited to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket as they enjoy this relaxed afternoon event. Food and beverages will be provided at this free event.
